Sorry in advance for the picture size.

Two of my trochus snails have been having an ejaculation party my tank today and it is now a cloudy mess. I feel bad that the fishes, crab and shrimp can't escape it.

How long does it usually take for this stuff to settle?

dunno... show them a picture of their parents doing it??? I imagine that would be enough to put on the brakes for any one of us. <<cough, cough>>> unless they're into that =)

The other inhabitants may consider it to be a delicacy or maybe it's kinda like the bulldog/eclairs in National Lampoon's Van Wilder. =)

Lol.

I am naming the two culprits Skeeter and Spunky now.

I would imagine it has happened before as I have been seeing a lot of baby snails as of late.

The cloudiness seems to have died down a nit since this morning. It was the weirdest thing seeing these two moving around and shooting this stuff everywhere.

Definitely wasn't suggesting ... just having a few laughs. I agree, it's pretty nasty that all this craziness goes on in our tanks. The behind the scenes of reefkeeping has a pretty damn grotesque side but still makes for some good laughs.

I'll admit, I screamed a few times like a lil girl when I suddenly realized that a bristleworm of any size was on my hand...lol.

I know a guy that tore down his 7+ yr old thriving reef because he wouldn't stick his hands in his tank anymore because the more the tank thrived, the crazier the organisms that he saw in his tank would get. Got to the point that he couldn't take the thought of doing it anymore. He even posted pics on several different occassions trying to identify what things were and when it got to the point that no one knew what they were anymore... it was a wrap and down came the tank.

Heh, that is pretty crazy. I am not too worried about it. After all I did assume the responsibility for these guys. If it means that they are comfortable and thriving in their environment, then it is a good thing.

I will wait for the cloudiness to go away though before I put my hand in there.
