Sorry to hear, I've had experience with kick ich andI can say that kick ich does not work (it actually made things worse). Your best bet is to quarantine the clown and either treat him with copper or do a hyposalinity treatment. If you still insist in keeping him in the current tank then you can try feeding him alot and hope he gets better however this is a long shot and doesn't always work.

he looks like hes giving up, laying on his side on the sand. is there anything i can do at this point? i put a bag filled with poland spring in the tank to get the temp right and dipped him in for 3-4 min, it looks like it helped (not much)

sorry to hear about our loss and our problem...
Well the first thing I would do is get a cleaner shrimp and or a cleaner goby.
Dipping the fish might make it worse cause of the stress of catching him. You can do some water changes. In my tank I had this ick problem and the healthy fish new got it on the new ones I put in there and he would get it on and off for a month. Once he got use to everyone and the tank he stopped getting it...
Ick is funny and they say it lives in your tank and hangs around for a long time..
Good luck.

what is the reason for the goby or shrimp?

and to top off my morning, the black clown that died last night found itself in a small hole in my LR, making it impossible to remove him from the tank without tearing my whole set up apart, can i leave him in there or deff take him out?

AHH!!!

everyone is giving you good advice fish die in my tank all the time and i cant find them if you have hermit crabs and snails its good food for them it will just decompose in the tank make sure you do water changes for the next month once a week get some cleaner shrimp i like the skunk cleaners the do a good job also get yourself some garlic extreem and dose the water if the fish is eating then does the food and let him eat it the garlic will boost his imunity. Also test the water that you are changing if your getting it from your local fish store they might be giving you crapy water if your doing your RODI then check your filters

i say get the dead fish out, use a tweezer to grab its tail or something. cleaner shrimps and gobies can help remove the white spots (ick eggs) thats on the fishes body and they eat them (but that is safe for them, they won't get ick from eating the eggs). you can try new life spectrum brand fish food, they have some that has garlic mixed in to boost the immune system.

Ick can live in your tank, but if your fish is perfectly healthy and not stressed, ick can't affect them.

Is your tank big, is it easy to catch your fish?

The one that's laying on the sand must be QT ASAP, ick burst out of their host body during dark (when they sleep) and babies burst out of the cryst during dark too to infest their host when they sleep, so laying ont he sand will only re infest further.

If the fish are easy to take out, QT and treating with hypo or copper is the best treatment you can do at this time. You have to take out ALL fish to have a full ick treatment. Note: some fish(like mandarin) are sensitive to copper, so check compatibility.

The cleaner shrimp or the cleaner goby will eat(clean) the single cell parasites off your fish. Which is ick and other bad things on your fish. They are cool looking and fun to watch when the shrimp makes a area where he cleans the fish, the fish go to that spot for a good cleaning once they learn where it is.
Yes like someone said soak your food in some kind of garlic like garlic guard or silcon. I use both one night garlic then next silcon. Every night I do that with the frozen food before I put it in the tank. It will help the fish stay healty.

If you just have fish in the tank and no coral or sps then I dont see why you need to break down your tank to get him out. Unless you dont have any herit crabs in there. If you do they will eat him. But if you dont your nitrates might get to high and that wont help the other fish that are trying to stay alive and away for the ick.

Looks like you are talking about your Eheim 9G, if so, it's too easy to catch the fish, including dissembling the rock work. Get a 10G from any LFS, move your in-tank filter over, take 3G of water from your old tank, catch whatever fish remaining,
run it for like an hour until water is clear, clean the filter, add freshwater according instructions for hypo-salinity from about.com
