??? issue with mini anemones. please help.

I have had them a while and never caused me concern. Over time they have taken over. They are all over my rocks and seem to be causing me problems. Now I can not get rid of them. I have tried lemon juice as well as Kalk. Can not contain them. Any suggestions. They were pretty at one time( green and red everywhere) but are now out of control. Would any fish help me here.

Filefish or copperband butterfly might help. Some say peppermint shrimp.
Aptaisia x will work if you keep at it. When I say keep at it. I mean like once a week for a year.

Your suggestion seems like its meant for aiptasia's. Op mentioned its the green/red mushroom anemones which copperband and peppermint definitely won't work. Filefish, most likely won't work either.

If its overrunning the tank like you say, I would probably suggest trying to swap to trade the infested rocks for bare rocks from newbies. Its a win/win situation since newbies just want any corals to start. I've tried many things to kill the mushrooms myself and they tend to get into every crevice that its very hard to kill while in the tank. The majano wand works to an extent (each time you use it, the mushrooms end up smaller so a large one would require multiple zaps, but the ones in small crevices are almost impossible to completely kill because the foot stays inside a hole which the wand can't reach.. depending on the shape of the rock) The only coral I found that actually will sting hard enough to kill it fairly quick is a tube anemone, but that was just coincidence and I wouldn't buy one just to lay a rock next to it to sting mushrooms. If swapping out rocks isn't an option, you can always dry the rocks, and then cycle them in a container again once its completely dead as the dead mushrooms will need to decay away.

Hey is that the anemones that you happen to pick up from me with mbg75? If so I have about 30 and counting now n a dedicated tank. I always wondered if there was something special about them.

To the OP try to isolate them because if they are any thing like my rbta they quickly spread to take over your tank.

They are cute. Kalk doesnt kill them? I call BS. Make the mixture thicker, it will kill them.

I think a picture would help out alot. is it an actual mini anemone or is it a mojanos? if its a mojano you want to get rid of them its its a mini anemone you can try to sell or trade them with someone.

+1 Kalk kills everything LOL..took care of many many mushrooms being diligent with kalk. 2 times a week going on 4 months now and i made a great dent in the population. for the small spuds that are popping up i zap them with the manjano wand

They are what is in the above picture. Never said they were definitely anemones. Just look like small bubble tips. The picture above is them. Does the wand really work that well. I have tried kalk a few times and sometimes they die, and other times do not.

These are in my tank started with one now have nine I would love to give some away to someone but when you try to get them they shrivel up to nothing and I can't get it I hears holding an ice cube on it will get it to release is that true if not im gonna have to kill them how do you so it with kalk

A nice copperband will thrive on feeding on them, and will clean them up pretty quickly, as I had them a while back in a 155, copperband took care of all of them.

looks like on of the bta's with the purple oral disks and flecks of silver that were around a year or so ago.
