Need skimmer suggestions for 75gal

Hello everyone!

I may be opening a can here, but I'm hoping for your input! Looking to spend around $300. I've been reading the skimmer Q&A form on RC and feeling bewildered :grumpy:

I forgot to mention that I don't have a sump yet, so size isn't really a factor. Thought it made more sense to figure out which skimmer was best, then plan the sump around the skimmer.

Ok so where is your water level set at? I just got one and have it set for just above where the throat atarts in the cup.

i have a swc 150 bmk protein skimmer on my 75 gallon reef and i love it. really small foot print, runs efficient and pulls out some great skim mate when its dialed in. good price for the quality of skimmer to

Do you have a sump? If so, check out the SRO 1000int. That will be perfect for your tank and actually under budget by a little. Great skimmer. Or, the Aquamaxx line would be great for your tank.
Check the used forums on RC as well. If you see one that looks interesting, post it here and we can give you specific feedback.

The owner/distributor/whatever of SWC is a dirtbag... Arrested for illegally importing live rock recently, among many other things. It's up to you but I would not purchase anything SWC right now.

IMO and (limited) experience, stay away from Atman pumps. There are tons of complaints regarding noise and reliability issues. Some people like them though.

I ran the SRO-1000INT on my 75g before I upgraded, definitely recommend it.
