I'm setting up my tank now. I plan on doing mostly LPS, with just a couple of SPS. My tank is 48x24x24. I have everything I need to get rolling. I just don't want to use the 2x250MH fixture I have. I don't want the heat, or the electric bill. Besides, I really like the ability to program some of these LED fixtures.I have model 104 lites what's in you tank lps sps? What size tank? Depth?
Do you get any shadows, or dark spots in your tank because the fixture is smaller than the tank?As triggerman states customer service is top notch, I had a few issues as well and they sent replacement fixture next day. I have the same size tank as you guys and I have 2 12" fixtures above mine with a reflector up against the wall but my tank is in the wall. If your tank is not in the wall you can get away with 1 3' unit in my opinion. I have an lps tank with a few sps and fixtures have not gone above 75% lit. Mine are about 16" above water level
Sounds great! Thanks for the info. I'm going to give them a call. Seems much easier than dealing with the mounting issues of the AI's and Ecotech's. These look very easy to deal with.no shadows at all, the spread is awesome!
Thanks. Will do.philyd1 is selling 2 of the 18 inch units cheap...check out the for sale section
Do you have any problems with spread? I've heard that the AI mounting bracket makes the units sit way to close to the water. Any issues with water splash?Just my 2cents, I opted for the AIs because of their brightness, and adjustability with the controller. I really like the ability to program them as I like, as far as power and color. As for mounting them it's not bad at all, I bought the complete kit with rails and end caps/legs, very clean installation. I have some pictures in a thread I started. I will post some current ones later today. Good luck with your selection especially since it's an expensive upgrade.
