I'm still on my search for the best LED's. Anyone using the Acan Lighting LED? If so, what do you think? Have you had success? $2850.00 for a 48" fixture seems really expensive. Is it worth the money?
Thanks.

They are indeed very expensive but a great light. They are fully controllable/dimmable and look great. I don't know about par levels etc but I believe they have some stats on their site. They also have a 2 year warranty and excellent customer service. I had a few issues and they replaced my light for me twice with no bs. Lester from Acan even brought the replacements right to my house since he lives near where I used to live.

I have model 104 lites what's in you tank lps sps? What size tank? Depth?
I'm setting up my tank now. I plan on doing mostly LPS, with just a couple of SPS. My tank is 48x24x24. I have everything I need to get rolling. I just don't want to use the 2x250MH fixture I have. I don't want the heat, or the electric bill. Besides, I really like the ability to program some of these LED fixtures.

As triggerman states customer service is top notch, I had a few issues as well and they sent replacement fixture next day. I have the same size tank as you guys and I have 2 12" fixtures above mine with a reflector up against the wall but my tank is in the wall. If your tank is not in the wall you can get away with 1 3' unit in my opinion. I have an lps tank with a few sps and fixtures have not gone above 75% lit. Mine are about 16" above water level

Do you get any shadows, or dark spots in your tank because the fixture is smaller than the tank?

The ongoing dilema of finding good LED's continues. I like the Acan Lighting unit a lot. There is no one here in Vegas selling any of these LED's. I would really like to see some of these different units on tanks. This sucks.

Your going to spend money on somthing your going to be mad about . Acan is a low end led fixture that has 1w leds that are pushed to 1.5w and dont really dimm like AI or maxpsect led and dont even have great cooling or par at all . If you want look up this light on other forums and you will find out that Acan is not a good led light at all. AI and Maxspect and Echo tech radions are the top of the line Leds and cheaper than Acan and upgradeable all the way . Acan are not Upgradeable at all.

AI Sol Blues

Just my 2cents, I opted for the AIs because of their brightness, and adjustability with the controller. I really like the ability to program them as I like, as far as power and color. As for mounting them it's not bad at all, I bought the complete kit with rails and end caps/legs, very clean installation. I have some pictures in a thread I started. I will post some current ones later today. Good luck with your selection especially since it's an expensive upgrade.

Not only that but for the AI it's about $1,500 to cover 48" for sps dominated I'd use 3 fixtures. For lps I'd use 2 so you're at about $1,100 only for a better light!

Ecotech you'd be spending about $1800, but also better light and cheaper.

Do you have any problems with spread? I've heard that the AI mounting bracket makes the units sit way to close to the water. Any issues with water splash?
