Rock Question

I am in the process of setting up my tank and I have some rock in my basement that I had used in a tank I had set up a while ago and I am not sure if I should just throw the rock away or use the rock in my tank? I am not to sure if the rock has been anywhere it shouldn't have been but can rock like this be salvaged or should I just toss it?

Rinse the rock with rodi water and use it to help cycle the tank also buy a few pieces of cured rock to help seed the old rock

+1 to the above. It is most likely dead after all this time if it hasn't been submerged in water and aerated with a pump/powerhead. A quick rinse should be all it needs but it will need some rock from an established tank to get the cycle started.
