i have had my clown for over 6 years.. every once in a while he gets some white spots as well.. not ick. i just feed him with a lil garlic and he wakes up fine the next day.. i notice him getting these white spots when he dives into my frogspawn

when u say spots, do you mean small patches? If so, sing a love song to the tank and coral will paly nice with your clowns. I think those are coral stings. Sometimes, they are black too. I think(actually guess) food with vitamins may help the fish to get thicker slim for protection.

+1 on the vitamins. Vitamin c acts as a catalyast in amino acid and antibody production. Also try feeding foods that are high in HUFAs like arctipods or cyclops. HUFAs are a great source of energy when fighting off parasites.
