A Sandsifter who isn't a known Jumper- Suggestions?!?!

I know all fish *can* jump...but some must be worse than others...?
We loved our Diamond Gobies...when the first one lept to the floor 12 hours after we got him, we thought it was just spooked from the acclimation. The second one was happy for a month, never left the bottom of the tank (43 bow), sand was pristine...then, BAM. Cat snack
We'd love to get another sand sifting fish (we have a sifting star), any suggestions that don't include covering the tank?

I've had a scooter blenny and it never jumped so i don't know if that qualifies..............

My Pistol shrimp and goby pair have been fine in my tank. They have dug burrows throughout the entire tank...pretty cool to watch and it keeps the sand moving.

:bigeyes2: it would be damn funny though...I might pay extra for a jumping starfish!!!
Maybe the pistol/goby pair is the best idea for us, thanx all....afraid a screen will cast weird shadows....we have a scooter - he tries his best but needs help...

i loved my blue dot sleeper goby...he never jumped...just got sucked up during a water change once, but survived lol

I built a screen top with the clear netting from Bulk Reef Supply and if you just looked in the tank, you would have no idea its there. No shadows at all.

+1, the mesh would have to be horribly thick to cause shadows. My screen cover has saved my olympic level jumping clown many, many times.
