aiptasia eating file fish.

how reef safe are the aiptasia eating filefish, can they be keep with starfish and such.

From my experience, yes they are reef safe and they won't bother any starfish. I have a bristletail filefish and I also have a linckia and it hasn't bother it as far as I know. I will also be getting the filefish that is on the current blog, the faintail filefish so we'll see how he will be

They have been known to eat zoos, clams, acans, duncans, etc. They seem to be pretty unpredictable. They are usually easy to catch if you have a problem though depending on your set up.

Mine has nipped at some percilapora but never anything else. over all a great fish I have no aiptasia left in my tank now.

they are known to eat SPS polyps also, but in a large tank you want even notice the damage......

I think any fish will nip if left to get hungry. I think mine has been well worth having. That and I like watching him try to blend in with his background. very intresting fish.

I just got one and he is great at eating the flake food I put in there and the brine and myssis shrimp mix I feed at night.... BUT He sure as hell hasnt even looked at a aptasia or mojoe.... SO i dont know what to tell you but we will see I have only had him 3 days now...

I kept one in my tank until all the aiptasia was gone then put him in my FOWLR even though he didnt touch any of my other corals.He'll be going back in soon because it's starting to come back.

So my plan to pass mine to the next guy wont work? cause it comes back? even if you keep you water consistent? So I'm guessing he's got a home for good then like mine as long as he keeps eating those aptaisia...LOL
