+1 on the flame hawk fish. He was our first fish and while not big in size, he sure is big on personality!! He is always looking at what you are up to when anyone is near the tank and is always begging for food when I take the cover off. He really is a trip! Great fish all around!!

if you want a fish that stands out go for a regal angel, it's so brightly colored he's my favorite in my tank. I have a regal, flame and potter's angel in my tank and they are the most brilliantly colored fish in my opinion. If you want a reddish fish that looks like a tang then a chevron tang would be what you're looking for but it's quite expensive and unfortunately it loses that coloration as it matures

id say no more fish for atleast 6 weeks seeing your going through a ich situation, no reason to add other fish to become infected, regal id say no to unless you find one eating frozen already and dont want zoa's in your tank, besides they need a very established tank.

yea i dont plan on getting new fish for like 3 months until i get rid of the ich. i would say my level of expertise right now is kind of in the middle because i am a beginner to the hobby but ive been researching this hobby day and night since june... its kind of like an addiction now so im kind of knowledgable but i think the best knowledge comes from personnel experience so ive been through a lot with this tank constantly changing with the beginner problems i had that now ive stepped up a level and i can keep everything stable now its just a matter of time for the ich to be completely gone but the hyposalinity is going good and the most sensitive fish i have in the tank now is a powder brown tang and he's been in there for about 2-2 1/2 weeks now and hes eating and seems to be healthy.

Do not put any fish in that tank. Not until hyposalinity is over and please go with a beginner fish like clown fish becouse you realy do not want to kill fish that survived shiping from overseas and now is going to die in your tank in Bronx.

I haven't put in a fish for a month. The only reason I got the powder brown tang was because I wanted it to be in the tank for hypo salinity so I wouldn't have to quarantine it later. And all the rock was fully cured with a 10 minute drive. When the tank cycled the ammonia and nitrite went up so little I could just about see the color change on the test kit. Then after that I checked every time I added a fish over and over and still it never went up. And whats the big deal about keeping it in a 38 degree house. If I just get another heater and can keep a constant temperature then how is it effecting the tank?

Do you know what your electric bill is gonna be with those heaters runnin 24/7? Plus the heaters themselves arent designed to be runnin ALL the time. Be careful to make sure they dont short out or just stop workin all together. The weather outside is not on your side lol Its gonna stay quite cold for sometime! You might be better of running the heat in the house against the electric bill!

+1 on that. Do you know what a burn circuit breaker can do to a wooden framed house???Especialy if no one is around to stop sparks from flying around the house.

Well I put the heat up a little and no I don't know what a burn circuit breaker can do but my dads an electrician and wired up the whole house when it was being built so if he's not worried about it then it can't be that much of a problem and the house has sprinklers anyway but I have the temp set to stay on 70 so the heaters get a chance to turn off instead of being constantly on at 71

Thats cool, at least you should get the temp issue resolved now!
