I too, love this fish. I've seen several for sale lately. I need to go to atlantis aquarium to get my fix. They have several beautiful adults. Anyone approve of one in a 220? ;(

If the Sohal is healthy and eating, IMO it will be able to hold it's own with the purple. They are 2 aggressive tangs that usually are able to defend themselves. IMO you would have some aggression from the purple and then things would settle down

I have a sohal and purple. 8 months ago when I got both fish they were about the same size (~4"). In the past 8 months the sohal has doubled in size and purple stayed about the same and the sohal chases the purple around for fun. Imo a purple will not be able to catch a sohal in 6' tank regardless of size especially if there are some hiding spots. Other tangs in the same species are more the problem. I introduced the sohal at the same time as the purple and a black spot. Black spot was 7" when I got him, and after about 3 months the sohal was after him too. I think having 3 tangs split the agression enough that they all live happily together now that they have gotten their pecking order established. As for final size of a sohal only you can make that decision, if I feel mine gets to big I will either sell him or perhaps saute with some garlic and butter. :kidding: tang police.
