I have a 40 Breeder with 20 sump. I am getting rid of my 3 firefish. I am going to keep my 2 True percs. I am pretty sure I will get a yellow watchman goby. I was thinking about a Flame angel.

I have a frog spawn, pumping sinularia, green/blue sympodium, xenia, leather and star polyps. I will be getting some zoas and palys as well So mostly softies. When I get a little better, I will possi go with SPS.

What do you guys think?

Royal Grammas are not much more active than any firefish, they both kind of just hang out. The royal will be more aggresive during feeding though. How about a cherub angel or flameback?

angels are fine if they are added last. i have 2 and i have no problems, but as NYreefNoob said, with the flame its hit or miss as to there picking on coral. what ever u do, do not get chromis! they are by far my most boring fish!!!

My Royal Gramma was very active and you can't beat the color. They can get territorial but usually they just open a big mouth to scare other fish away.
If you like blue fish, the blue chromis is also a nice choice and also active and not mean like his damsel cousins.

I had about a dozen royal grammas in my 265 for around a year, they all just kind of set there in their own spots. When food was added they became active. I had no problem with the cherub, But I heard a lot of people have.
