After 9 months in the tank, finally my Blue Devil Damsels paired off and mated. From the first time I put them in, the male selected a territory and cleaned it out, he kept chasing the female around since, but she never payed to much attention to him, yesterday I noticed that the female was not where she usually hangs out, which is on the other side of the tank. Then I noticed she was in the cave swimming back and forth upside down. Has anyone ever had experience in breeding damsels?

Great video! Makes me wonder if I should start buying 2 of everything instead of just a single individual. Then again, I cant sex damsels, unless she was in distress.
I should really pickup a new camera. I've watched my cardinals breed twice, but no footage to show for it.

Congrats!...a sign of a healthy tank. I had a few different pairs of damsels breed for me including blue devils..very cool vid and I like the scooter looking for a free meal. They will hatch usually at night and so small you can't get them....they will become food for the corals and fish.

yea because they are so small the water current will sweep them right out...I never seen any hatchlings from any of my damsel egg nests, but I know they aren't blue yet until later in development. I even had a pair of three striped Humbugs lay eggs right in the corner of the front glass and still never saw them hatch.
