We got a little yellow coris wrasse and our clown fishes won't let him go anywhere. They don't beat up on him or anything like that. They just keep him corraled in thier area. If he swims too far away, they go get him and bring him back. How do we get our clownfishes to stop trying to parent a fish that isn't even their species?

Ok first things first, clowns are territorial and they will back off in a few weeks. Just give it time. I speak from experience having 2 Percs and a Yellow and a Melanarus Together in the tank.

Second. This isn't a selling thread, it is a General Discussion thread. The OP wants help, not a sale, keep all the buying questions to the Marketplace.

you can try to isolate the clowns for a few days. Specimen containers with several holes drilled in them will work nicely.

I think thats cool... But dont worry the wrasse will out grow the clowns and then they will be chasing him away from them.. I have a matted pair of clowns that lay eggs every 21 days or so, and I have a corset yellow wrasse too every time he gets near the eggs the clowns chase him or for that matter anything including my hand away.. they dont care.. brave little buggers..
