i have not added a new fish to my tank is some time now and im thinking about picking up a mystery wrasse. i have a 72 bow about 4 years old. have not lost a fish in 2 1/2 years. its a reef tank. mostly lps and softys. i have a few fish. main fish would be a flame angel, hippo tang, checkerboard wrasse, 6 purcula clowns, constructor goby, bullet goby, and the rest are little things like algae blenny, gramma ect... water qualities are amazing except nitrates which i have discussed alot of times in past threads and came to the conclusion thats its not a issue. selinity is around 23 24. temp ususally 79. good idea and would it be a ok home? anyone have one that can give some advice? friendly? hides alot? ect... the one i am getting is probably 3 1/2 inches

I've had my mystery wrasse for about 6 mos. He is a good fish to have. Always swimming out from the rock work, hides some times, but mostly swimming along the bottom rock work. He doesn't bother with my other small wrasses. I have had to scoop him out a couple of times from my overflow. Fosters and smith had them for mucho dinero, but I picked him up on sale from them for $90. Eats like a champ!

i have had my mystery wrasse in my 240 for about 4 years and he is very calm...i noticed that they like alot of room and also a lot of live rock with caves to jump in and out of ...they are good too cause if a fish dies in the tank mine eats them right up but other than that i find them peacful..very cool fish to have ...

well i picked up the mystery wrasse. he is about 3 1/2 inches. made sure my fish were well fed so no one is too active or rough when i added him. i put the wrasse in and he hid for a bit. then he came out and the royal gramma, bullet goby and checkerboard does not like him. not like attacking him but when he comes out they do that quick little push. and its funny because my hippo is flipping out the most! nothing against the mystery wrasse, just litterly swimming as fast as possible back and forth acting like he is running a marithon. then stopped to eat some seaweed, then FLIPPED out when he say the wrasse and sprinted back and forth in the tank. right now while looking at it all seems nuteral, but thats because the mystery is hiding, we will see how it goes later on...im hoping its ok because he is amazing looking
