when i went to the lira meeting friday i saw james had a large volitian lion fish housed with clowns and shrimp and it looked very peaceful in his 92 corner and i loved looking at him and someone not going to mention any names was even talking to it LOL.well i was wondering since it was housed in his reef why shouldnt i look into lionfish and i see dwarf lions can be housed in a 30 or larger and was wondering just like the other lionfish caution is to be taken.im not saying im going out and buying 1 i just want to hear some feed back from u guys.

two of my buddies have lions in there reef tanks full of smaller fish and they never are aggressive. my one has a dwarf that only eats krill and the other eats normal mysis. they never complain and love it.

From what I've heard the dwarf lionfish are pretty safe so long as you feed them, you don't have any really itty bitty fish, and don't have any shrimp you care about. :)

very interesting article.i really do like the lionfish.it seems it maybe difficult for me to keep it well feed so it wont eat my smaller fish because i am gone usually from 5 to 5 and his hunger instincts will kick in.one day i will try 1 though.

They feed at night as well. The Volitian get very big very fast one silver side a day will not satisfy their hunger for long.If you decide to get one get a Red or Black those have little to no white stripes.Very rare. The dwarf is like a little puppy that spit water at the water surface to get you to feed it.They feed at night as well but will not tolerate another new comer. This little guy will literally fight to the death if another dwarf is introduced afterwards.
