I got 4 new fish a few weeks ago in a 24 gallon Aquapod. One blue chromis, a pair of rusty gobies and a neon goby. The neon came up with ick after about a week in the tank (no qt or dip). It's been over 2 weeks and so far he is the only one that I can see having the ick but he is eating well. He has been through a few cycles of it and I have been debating removing him to treat with copper.
My pump got clogged by something that fell in the back section so I had to take it out to clean and detached the hoses. Since I had the cover off I decided to try to catch the neon but he jumped and landed in the back section. Using a flash light I tried to net him but failed. After a while I couldn't even see him. Maybe he went into the second compartment which is full of filter media. Anyway I gave up, took a breaak then put everything back together. And last night he was back in the front display. Not sure if he jumped back or possibly went through the hose holes while I took a Break.

Hi Kathy, Nice to hear from you. I added new pics to my gallery. So the ones dated 3/1 included a few with the Neon streaking by. One has the blue chromis and one has one of the rusty pair.
What I find interesting about the neon is that even with the ick he still tries to clean my spotted cardinal. If I see ick on another fish then I will do what it takes to catch them all and treat with CopperSafe which I did a number of years ago. Otherwise he is just going to have to build up his resistance. He is eating well so I have my hope up.
Thanks, Sam

I have a mated pair of blue neon gobies and they are quite interesting to watch. They go into small holes of the live rock and stay in there for long periods of time. When I first got them one of them had an ick looking bumb and then it went away, maybe the other one cleaned him up.

I have the same problem with my BioCube, one of mine keeps jumping in the back chambers and its soooo hard to see him bc he clings to the walls and there are tiny ledges in there that block the blue stripe. Only the back on the fish is black with the blue stripes the under part is almost white or transparent like. Anyway I have on ein the back chamber since new years eve and he is doing fine, seems to prefer to be alone.

Go to mediabaskets.com, they sell fish savers for the biocubes. They work great!
