If fish could scream.....

Hey guys and girls got a question. A have a koren angel and a yellow tang in my tank for a couple months now and they are both doing great. Except when i put a new fish in the tank. So far the a-holes have managed to team up and kill a copperband butterfly,a powder brown tang. The angel would eat the tailfin off my blue spot blenny. I just added a kole tang to my tank bout a week ago the yellow tang doesnt seem to care bout the kole but the angel wont leave it alone and actualy chases the kole tang around backwards and tries to attack him with a spike he doesnt have. Is this a normal behavior for angels. Its like he thinks hes a tang.

(A) Alert - This fish cannot be kept with other Angelfish. If you're attempting to purchase two or more Angelfish for the same aquarium it will cause them to fight and most likely one will not survive, so if you're placing an order that has 2 or more Angelfish in it we will have to place the order on hold until we're able to contact you to ensure you're not putting them into the same tank. If you understand they cannot be kept together,

It's normal behavior ... Angel is showing that he is the dominant one of the tank ... Angelfish ... especially larger ones are VERY dominant/territorial fish ... and usually don't like other fish that will potentially invade their space (yes all fish are like this for the most part, but large angels can be extremely aggressive). Koran, Imperator, Queen, French, Annularis ... etc.etc.

Also, your first two choice of fish were not the best ... The Copperband is a VERY sensitive fish and needs less boisterous tank mates, plus MOST of them do horribly in our aquariums anyways. The Powder Brown Tang is also another sensitive fish that doesn't do well in the aquarium so your angel kicking the cr@p out of it ... definitely won't help.

Yellow Tangs are also very territorial ... Old fashioned way of remedying this knock of the lights for the day (not a guarantee, but has worked for many over the years) ... as well as changing the aqua scape around a bit to confuse the fish ... and take away their established territories ... and if all else fails ... get rid of the aggressors for now until you get the fish you want into the tank. :)

How big is the tank these fish are going into anyways?

how big is the tang and angel already in the tank? and what size is the tank? How long have they been in the tank? they are just showing their dominance in the tank because they see someone else moving in and making their territory smaller. no offense whatsoever but chances are that the copperband wasnt going to make it anyway

I went through this so many times in my early years with the tangs.
I went as far as re-aqua scaping, blackening out the tank (wrapped the tank in dark blanket) completely for a day or two, and still the new comer was beaten up, or worse killed.

I then got a little smarter, and decided what tangs I want, and bought them all at the same time. I had much better success with this strategy.:)

Not much experience with the angels. But I have read that they will go after any fish that resembles their shape.:(
