Triggers nipping at wires etc

have any of you guys even had a trigger nip at electrical wires or any hardware in the tank? ive heard they can do this but have never seen it in person just wondering.

Back in the day when I was using under gravel filters, I had triggers go for the lift tubes.

It's very common for a Trigger to bite the wire on a heater. I use to have them do it to my Ebo Jagers heaters so I had to be careful not to leave the wire in the tank. The thing is once they start to go after it they'll keep doing it so you need to move it or remove it. The same goes for the silicone caulking, some Triggers will bite it and pull strips off.

i had a humu who hates plastic zip tie....he chews through everyone of them.

I do protect my turbelles lines with hard plastic wire organizer to protect them and every year I change them due algae growth and my triggers bittes damages...

They are a PITA. I used to have this problem with my clown trigger until I gave him away .

if you have a sump, put the heater in it.

I've heard of this happening a few times. In general, Triggers are smart, curious fish with big teeth.

I would try to hide all your equipment in a sump if you can. Also, I've heard it helps to keep them occupied by having lots of 'interesting stuff' to 'play with'.
