blennies

couldnt find info if blenny are jumpers, looking for a blenny with maximum personality (will not hide, out in the open most of the time).

from first hand experience, which one would you recommend.

specs: 20gal high, no sand, and plenty of liverock, open top...

algy bleeny mine always out mine even eat the pellets my fish eat along with algy of my glass but he is always out ....

canary blenny is a nasty (mean), little guy. i have children, so i wont be planning in getting one.

the algae blenny is a good choice, also thought they looked ugly until i saw one in person.

im leaning towards the midas, or the starry.

midas blenny are cool in my imo. they have lots of personality cool colors and always got along just fine with everyone in my tank

I have a starry blenny. He's great always out and swing around. He also likes to just chill on the rocks or on top of my mag glass cleaner. He's awesome an a handsome looking fish.

bicolor blenny, always out, big eyes that are always looking around, plus helps with some algae control.

From my experience, you'd want to go with either:

Tailspot Blenny, Midas Blenny, Bi-Color Blenny.

Yes you do need a closed top... They do jump.

I have a Tailspot blenny...very peaceful....always out....very cool little fish....

I think all fish jump......but i've yet to see him test out his Hops yet...

tailspot...looks like he got makeup and smiling and is kool as hell !! always out in front of tank..jus always have a mesh cover for safety..especially in the first few months..

I have the Red Scooter Blenny and he is awesome. Always out and hops along from rock to rock in my reef tank. He is eating frozen shrimp too.

My vote 2 i have 2 regular scooters and 2 reds.. Not jumpers..

vanuatu tile blenny( i think thats the name)- they have the body of a algae blenny but kinda like a mosaic tile design to their body, but can be a little pricy depending on your price range. striped blennys are nice and i dont recomend any of the ora blennies because they are all inbred because they dont watch their stuff that close

+1 Both Dave and I have a Midas Blenny and it has been our favorite addition to both of our tanks. They are always out and swimming about. Dave's blenny chases its own tail. Mine always antagonizes my tomato (probably deserved...haha). AND they have the cutest faces

Midas blenny is also a gorgeous fish but get kinda large IMO for 20 gallon.

Scooter blennies are not in the blenny family. It is just a name they are in the mandarin/dragonette family.

I had an Algae and a bi color blenny and they never jumped.
