Single white pimple on yellow Tang. Ich?

My new yellow tang has developed a single small white pimple on one of his sides. Is this ich? I hope not. He was quarantine for 4 weeks and now he is two weeks in my display tank. He looks healthy and eats everything. I am not sure how to handle the situation. It is been like that for about 4 days. My other fish are ok so far and very healthy. I even have a healthy copperband that I thought was more difficult to keep. Iam unable to take any pics but it look exactly like a white pimple.

What could that be. a cyst? It is going to be next to impossible to take him out of my DT for treatment. :irked:

Don't plan on taing him out of the tank just yet. Surely someone you know has a camera phone?

I have a friend that had the same problem-it's been 2 1/2 months, and no one else is sick yet. And it hasn't spread to anyone else in the tank.

I read about that as well Chraddam. I think ich does not show up with a single white dot but many on the body. I am trying to get a pic of it to post.

The pimple is gone as of Yesterday after 4 days on my yellow tang. I could not get a picture of it. I am puzzled. I do not see other symptoms yet.:scratchch

realy need pic to truly tell, can be lympho syst (i think i spelled that right). if it looks like a pimple thats what it could be, ich is smaller and looks like small sand grains covering your fish. lympho syst is more like a fungus for salt water fish. i have had fish that have had it before, there is nothing you can realy do about it and it will get worse before it gets better. if it is that your fish should be fine

I'd have to agree with this, but a picture would be helpful.

can be anything, if is minor, soak your food w/ pure garlic, feed it to the tang, it should recover if you boost the immune system, wouldnt to too worry about it till it spreads more.

It could've just been a damaged and lifted scale, either from running into a rock or a tussle with some other critter. I nearly shat myself when the same thing happened to one of my clowns, thinking I had ich. %)
