Today was a very sad day for me. My Flame Angel died. I have a serious bad history with this fish!

I got him about 3 weeks ago. I acclimated for 2 hours. He ate everything, I was feeding medicated Thera A Spectrum Pellets. In a 72 Bow Front that I just upgraded. Rest of the fish are fine. I noticed when I took him out he had a cut on his side. What could've killed him? He wasn't even discolored when I took him out.

Livestock:
2 False Percs
1 Hippo Tang
1 Sailfin Tang (just added last Friday... seems a little fishy)
1 Green Chromis
1 Yellow Watchman Goby
1 Firefish
1 Bicolor Blenny
1 Cleaner Shrimp
1 Peppermint Shrimp
Various Hermit crabs/snails

Probably the Tang

My Sailfin put a 1/2" gash on the side of my maroon fortunately he healed up if it is a straight cut like it was done with a scalpel it is most likely the tang

Flame Angel Loss!

Ted,

Hello. Sorry to hear about your loss. Flame angels are also one of my favorite fish. I feel your pain when you have a fish that seems perfectly healthy and it's eating everything then one day out of the blue you find him dead. Many of us have been in the same situation so keep your head up you're not alone.

Good Luck :splitspin

Sorry to hear about it and I feel your pain as well. Everyone loses a fish here and there as CustomKing noted. Russ (SaltwaterCritters) told me the other day he lost his Hippo that he had for quite some time.

I lost a flame angel that I purchased from a local vendor and it died the next day.

So I waited a few weeks and got another one and he's doing fine.

Good luck and move forward.

UGH! It bothers me. I KNOW the sailfin tang did it! The Hippo Tang, Flame Angel, and Sailfin would swim together (they did for the past week). I guess when the lights went out they all bolted and the dorsal fin hit him -_-.

Try to make them understand that when you're in front of the tank, you don't mean no harm:splitspin

I'm sorry about your fish!!!

72 Bow. Sailfin is a juvenile and gets along with the fish well. Just that I think when I walk by they get startled because the tank is near the stairs.

I'm sorry for your loss!;( I lost my flame not to long ago also. Had it for some time, and suddenly for no apparent reason gone.

As to walking by your tank and freaking them out, they will become accustom to you. For now walk by slowly. My tank is in such a place that there is constant traffic going past the front of it, and the side.;) My fish only jet out when someone passes by to quickly. Like one of my grands running.lol
Honestly when I walk past the tank my fish come to greet me, more then likely expecting me to feed them.:)
