Ich has finished off all but one fish and with no QT,I have no plans on buying any more fish til the cycle is gone. The Exquisite Wrasse was probably the original carrier but doing fine but showing signs of it.Considering on selling it granted that it first go into QT first but that'll be another thread.

Sorry to hear that, I've recently had an ick outbreak also , it kill all but 2 fish. I wait 2mo with a faLlow tank, and currently restocking. Good luck and make sure you wait it out.

My 2 tanks were fishless for exactly 45 days while the fish were being treated for ich. They're all healthy and beautiful now. I don't event use my UV, it's still laying around in the garage.

Keep it fallow for at least 45 days. Why let it kill any more fish. UV doesn't really help. Patience is the key.

Yen,

what do you us to treat the fish prior to putting them into your display tank?

I've had good success with hyposalinity. I've got one fish that has ich (probably brought in by my latest addition who of course is very healthy and shows no signs of Ich), but since it's a FOWLR I'll probably just hypo the tank for 6-8 weeks.

I know when I had it in my tank the UV light helped get rid of the free floaters and my fish eventually got rid of it on there own. I would keep the UV on until all signs of Ich are gone on the fish. FYI it took about two full weeks with the UV light on.

I used Cupramin, for at least a month, even after the last white spot was seen. Actually, I made a mistake of bringing them back to the DT only after 30 days. The hippo got ich only after one week of being back. I was so mad at myself for not waiting only a couple more weeks!!! I had to bring all of them back to the hospital tank for the 2nd time, and kept them there for 45 days.

I decided to throw away Ich Attach after using it for 4 days. The hippo tang only got worse. I'm glad I switch to Cupramin in time and saved all of my fish.
