I have 3 fire gobies, 1 clown, 1 hippo, purple tang and a gold rim tang in my 65G tank. They have been very peaceful to each other, no chasing at all. The gold rim is getting worst and worst, today is the 4th day he got the white spots, and getting more and more. I did a 35% water changed yesterday, should I do it another now or tomorrow? Or what should I do now?

If the fish try to scratch against the rock, then they got ich. I would remove them to a hospital tank and treat them with either Hyposalinity or Copper (Cupramine is good). Do a search on the fish forum to see other suggestions on other treatments.

Please act fast or you may lose the fish.

Good luck,

Can you post pics please. If your sure it is ich, then Hospital tank, and treat him!
I would definitely do the cupramine, and make sure you have the appropriate copper test kit.

After reading the Ich info page, I was looking for garlic but there is none at home then I tried to use the ginger. I looked at him in the morning today, that is a miracle. He had atleast 25+ white spots on him last night and today I only saw few of them on his back. I didn't turn on the light but I am sure that he is getting alot of better. The ginger is working!! :groupflip
I will post more info or a pic with him later tonight.

not to scare you but I have heard of fish showing the white spots and then all of a sudden the white spots go away, but the fish is still infected. keep a real close eye onm him and if he shows any signs again pull him out and get him treatment

It sounds like ich.
I leave any fish with ich in my display. Im sure ppl will say im a fool for doing this but, removing the fish to a qt tank will only stress them out further(ie, I had a hippo tang in my display for 6 months, I moved it to a qt b/c I thought it was eating my acans. However the move to the qt made the tang, which was healthy, break out in ich, and when I moved it back to my display, the ich came back b/c the fish was stressed out from being moved). Not to mention, that digging around your tank with a net will stress out all the fish/verts/corals, and you might break something, etc.

All fish healthy or not can catch ich, the healthy ones will fight it. Also, having some type of cleaner shrimp in a tank will really help, as the fish will go to the shrimp and get a good cleaning.
Also, as horrible as it sounds, if there is a weak fish in the system, the ich will kill this fish, thus removing any weak fish

If you have ich in your tank, it'd better to fix it so you don't have to worry about it later. To avoid stressing the fish, remove all the rocks, corals, etc. that will make it easy to catch the fish without stressing them too much.

The parasites that kill your fish is not really the white spots on the fish body, they're inside the gills. Cleaning shrimp won't be able to clean that. Leaving ich parasites in your tank, all your fish, strong or not, will likely get ich sooner or later.
