If he has ich you 1st. need to isolate him in a hospital tank, then you can treat with either hyposalinity or meds (copper for which you will also need a test kit)

All fish should be moved to a hospital tank and treated. The main tank need to remain fish free for 6 to 8 weeks tp make sure the ich has gone through its life cycle and died off without a host to live off of. Check the ich sticky atop the forum for some great info. Good luck, always go slow and make slight changes as not to stress an already stressed fish more and always quarantine any new fish.

You don't need a large tank for a hospital or quaranteen tank. Depending on the size of your fish you maybe able to do it with a 10 or 20 gallon with a small heater, ph, and a small ho filter, and some pieces of pvc for hiding.

What type of angle is it? and if you are going to go reef the angel might not be the best fish to have in the tank. Just take tank water from your tank and place it in the hospital tank, then make sure you have a filter on the new tank and place the fish in the tank. Make sure you check all your fish after moving the angel in the qt tank. Also never use copper in your main tank it is extreamly hard to get rid of once introduced in the tank.

You can check sometimes get a 10 or 20 G for free on craigslist or freecycle.org. Maybe someone on the freebie thread might be able to help you out with the extra tank situation.

I got my 10G tank off of freecycle and I have it set up with a Hang on back filter with water I removed from my DT during a water change. Dont put anything in it - sand, live rock etc . Just get a couple of PVC pipes and your fish will be happy.

I had to use it for my 2 clowns that had ich. I was nervous to try the hyposalinity so I used Cupramin by SeaChem, its copper based. It worked great for me.
description: 'Cupramine is non-acidic, less toxic to fish, remains in solution, and does not contaminate the filter bed. Easily removable with carbon.'

Read more about it here:http://www.marinedepot.com/Seachem_...ite_Medications-Seachem-SC4713-FIMEPS-vi.html
