Don't know what the heck is going on, but I just lost my radiant wrasse!
This is the second fish this week. Two days ago I lost my pink skunk. The skunk was about a year in my tank, the radiant I had for about 2 years.
The pink skunk appeared to have been attacked or something, the radiant was fine last night and now he is dying underneath a rock.
Fish in this tank are:

Marine Betta who has been in there for 3 + years.
Hippo tang 2 + years
Kole tang 1+ year
Bengaii Cardinal 3+ yrs
Ocellaris clown 2+
Two-Spot Hog fish (tiny) couple of weeks
Yellow coris wrasse 2+ yrs.
Clown fairy wrasse couple of weeks
Green mandarin 2 years
Pink Spot Gobie 3+ yrs.
Yellow watchman gobie 3 years
Possum wrasse 6+ months

Hermits, turbos, and nassarius, and my harley

All parameters are falling withing range.

PH 8.3
Temp 77
Sal 1.025
Ammonia 0
Trites 0
Trates 0
Cal 450
Alk 8.6
Mag 1260

No inverts. Only a couple of monties, a sitosa, and the only new fish added were clown wrasse & two spot hog.

And on top of this yesterday I learned my tank has red bugs.

Sorry to hear about this Awilda. Everyone loses fish one time or another without a reason. Wrasses are jumpers, even clowns can jump. You might want to check the floor. Since you have other fishes for years and doing well, that would rule out the possibility of a mantis shrimp in your system. Oh well..

Thanks NDY, just that everything was going so well since the April heater episode. And now 2 dead fish, and red bugs. Guess I'm just venting... Besides it saddens me to loose that radiant, he was a tiny little guy when I got it.

Sorry to hear of your loss!!

Awilda, red bugs are probably the easiest pests to remove from your system. I had them a long time ago and they were taken care of within hours. All I did was remove in infected acros and dip them into a slightly stronger-than-recommended solution of saltwater and revive.

Thanks mray! I'm going to dose the tank with interceptor. Most of my acros have encrusted the rocks. So the easiest thing for me to do is the interceptor treatment.

What hurts me the most is the loss of my Radiant wrasse. I searched so long for him, and he did so well. Grew so much from the tiny thing that I got him, and to just loose him for no apparent reason well what can I say.

Thanks Brendan!

Tobin, wear a respirator buddy! If your doing that much plumbing in an enclosed area I really recommend you invest in a respirator. I'd hate for you to ruin your lungs!!!!
