I don't know what happened, nor what to do for her since she won't go into traps it will be impossible to catch her.
She was fine yesterday, I was just looking in to the tank for the first time today. Check out the pics as to describe this would not make sense. It looks like all the flesh on 1/2 of her left side was peeled away.
She has been hosting my elegance for almost a year since I got her. And now she is staying away from the elegance, which the tiny ocelarius is now enjoying profusely. What do you guys/gals think did this?

Ouch :(
Not sure that the elegance had anything to do with the damage to the fish. I would also doubt that with an open wound that the fish would go near the elegance as now any touch would hurt.

It looks more bacterial to me but if you can't catch the fish, you're going to need to hope it heals up on it's own.

A marine betta would go for it....how big is it? It looks like it could be a large bite mark on its side. or the slice of a tang also.

All these fish have been living together peacefully for a couple of years. My Betta stays in the rocks all most all the time. She comes out, grabs a little food, and back in to the rocks she goes.

Maybe the clown went into her territory? I think its a bite mark from another fish...if you dont see her anymore, she might have been eaten.:shhh:

She's gone missing so I can't check to see if it spread or not. What I can say is, she didn't have anything on her the day before. I check them daily.

Only other problem was that I turned the MH on in the morning for a friend, and forgot to turn them back off when I left out. Normally run the MH for 5 hrs. yesterday then ran for about 12 hours total. When I got back home around 8 PM that's when I saw her, and the other loss appears to be an SPS. Last night 1 or 2 of it's branches were totally white, this afternoon it appears to be shedding all of it's flesh.;(

Sorry to hear about the loss. Don't beat yourself up over it too much, we have all been there and done similar things. I hope your little skunk is okay. Best of luck.
