I have (had) a male and a female pair of blue throat triggers. When I got them, the male was about 30% smaller than the female. When they were introduced into the tank, the male was much more shy, and would retreat when I approached the tank. Over time, he has become more comfortable. The female on the other hand was always a voracious eater, and spent more time in the open.

Over the last few weeks, the female is showing some slight aggression towards the male during feeding time. She doesnt bother him any other time, and she bothers no other fish.

I noticed that the yellow tips of her fins, which had been pale are starting to brighten up- approaching those of the male. But I thought I was just seeing things through my dirty glass. This morning I saw she is starting to develop a blue throat like the male. While it isnt quite the same blue, it is clearly there, and she definitely didnt have it before. Could she be switching sexes? What does this mean for the harmony of my tank? Will the male turn to female, should I expect more aggression?
