I purchased 2 tank raised false percs friday and havent been able to get them to eat yet. The clowns appear to be in good health and were bought from AquaHut in Coram (who I've only had good experiences with). They appear in good health, but I didnt see them eat (they were in a tank with ~15 -20 other clowns and I was told were already fed).

So far I have tried frozen mysis shrimp & spirulina, small extreme pellets, and formula one flakes both (all on their own and soaked in garlic guard). Yesterday I did a 15% water change just in case that was an issue. Assuming I can't get them eating tonight I will post the new parameters (note, my GSP frogspawn and zoas have been doing great and growing so I didnt think water quality was an issue).

After 4 days, could they still be stressed from the move? I was thinking about buying some live mysis or brine shrimp and maybe some live blood worms to see if i can get them started. Any ideas?

Thanks, read a little about it and it sounds good. Called New World, NY Aquarium Service and Petco but no one had it. Any store accessible by subway sell it or do you order it online?

So the fish still haven't eaten. But last night they began to pursue the food and one of the false percs had a pellet in its mouth then spit it out.

Any recommendations? It will be 6 days without eating tonight.

The smaller of the fish ate a pellet of ORA glow today and then nawed and spit out another one several times.

The larger of the two fish doesn't actively pursue the food. Parasite or do you think it is simply b/c it can fast longer?

I think it's normal for clowns to go for days without eating. Try hatching brine shrimp for them. If I was back at home, I'd hatch some for you.

Its been 7 days now, if someone thinks this is the wrong approach please let me know.

In the interest of closing this thread:

After 11 days the little guy began actively pursuing frozen mysis shrimp and eating & after 12 the bigger guy did the same.
