Finally the cardinals I got from Ming started to breed. I may not have time to try and raise these guys before I move but I'm excited nonetheless. Right now the eggs are being carried in the mouth of the male. You can see his swollen mouth below.

I'm glad they finally started breeding again. Hope you have better luck then I did with the babies! I'm more curious to find out if you pass the 2 month point, mine died slightly short of 2 months.

Thanks everyone! We'll see Ming. It is probably going to take me a few failures before I figure it out. I'm having good luck so far with enriched BBS using a special rotifer feed for the seahorses. I'll use the same for the cardinals so hopefully if it is a HUFA deficiency I'll have better luck than last time.

Dom, the pair that you have, one time I stolen the eggs @ day 12 and the babies starting swimming themselves after 10 more days. (total 22 days)

Another time, I let him hold them and stole it after @ day 20 and they are already free swimming. He still kept it in his mouth even though they could swim on their own. It also seemed they could swim earlier when they were incubated in the fathers mouth.
