I have a 120gal FOWLR 13 fish and for the past 3 years same fish have been doing fine recently my PBT has developed ick I have a UV sterilizer. 3 days prior I cleaned entire tank, filter, sump. UV was off by accident 1 day and now it has been running over 12 hours but my PBT has some ich. They eat fine but he has been sluggish.

Keep an eye out to see if the ich goes away in a day or two or at least gets better. The PBT must have gotten stressed but if he is a long time resident in your tank he should quickly fight it off. Keep the UV running of course. How old is the UV bulb?

The UV will only kill any ich that has gone into the unit. Any ich that is in the sandbed will still be there.
I wouldn't suggest adding another fish so quickly (like others here) and also feel it would be best to remove the current fish to a QT and let the tank remain fish-less for 6-8 weeks so you are sure the ich is gone.
Just because you can't see the cysts on the outside of the fish, doesn't mean they don't have it :(

Thanks for the advice I will observe my tank for the next month or 2. What do you think I should add when everything is free and clear? Also is there anything I can do to help if there is any ich in the tank? How about that Copper Power?

If you choose to use the Copper Power in there keep in mind that there is an excellent chance that the tank can never be used to house a reef due to the use of copper, nor would you be able to house any inverts in the tank.Likewise any rock or sand would be useless in the future too.
Best to use a QT to treat.

I am exclusively using Jonathan's copper treated (cupramine) rock in my 24 gallon AP with corals and inverts without a problem  I just let the rock run in a bucket with brand new saltwater for a few weeks before I used it. Having said that there is a risk but it is not 100% a problem.

(1) We have all argued about copper here before. I would suggest using the search function to pull up some old threads. :) Ultimately, it is my belief that this idea that once you put copper in something it will never be able to used for a reef is not true. Copper is not a renewing resource - eventually, all of it will leach out of the surfaces that have been exposed to copper. The question we need to ask ourselves is how long does it take to leach out? That is have no answer to. I suspect things like glass and plastic, a quick rinse will get rid of it. I used a heater that I used in a copper treated QT tank in my reef tank for a long time and never had a single problem. In a tank, I think the question is how much soaks into the silicone and how fast does it leach out? I suspect it is actually removed from the silicone fairly quickly. I further suspect that it could take a longer or shorter amount of time to remove it all from LR depending on its porousness. Regardless, if you should use copper treated things in your reef tank, you should get a good copper test kit to test to see if there are levels in your water before adding any invertebrates.

(2) If none of your other fish are showing signs of ich, why in the world would you want to QT them? IMO, QTing will only stress their fish immune systems further. Unless you are running an aggressive QT with copper, I suspect there are variations of the ich parasite in our tanks at all times. If you remove all of the fish, QT them, and put them back in again and then neglect to QT future purchases, you are right back where you started out to begin with. If your fish are fine right now, personally I would leave them.

(3) I do agree that you shouldn't add any more fish to your system for a few weeks just to make sure everything has settled in and no more fish come down with ich.

Copper kills inverts. Copper is also absorbed by rock and other porous items in a fish tank and even though you may read no copper in the water column it will slowly leach out and it will kill inverts. This includes corals, shrimp crabs snails etc....... why chance the lives of other animals in your care. If no other fish show signs of ich leave them be just watch them. If they develop anything then move them to a hospital tank and treat them. NEVER EVER EVER EVER add anything to your display without properly researching the consequences. There are miracles out there but they are few and far between, I wouldn't chance it. History is proof enough as far as I am concerned. FW dips are bad news if not done properly. The Temp, pH etc must match exactly. If they don't then you will surely kill the fish. Plus the duration is longer than a minute, ask yourself if you would like to be kicked out into 0 degree weather in your birthday suit for an hour? Then think again about that FW dip.

I'm new at this though, so what do I know.
