Can't you just use a turkey baster and dust off your your corals? If you do this and blow the sand away from his borrow then eventually he should stop shoveling large amounts of sand and your corals should be fine. You could also move the closest ones so they don't get covered in everyday sand removal.

I have five jawfish right now. As soon as the fish find the location, they like. Then, they will stop destroying your tank. They will still continue to dig and throw sand everywhere, but then just turkey baster blast the sand off your corals. They like to rearrange the shells or coral all the time, so I would occasionally throw more shells for them to build with. I go to the beach to collect small shells for them. good luck!
