Firefish gone missing

So just yesterday my kole died and now today I come home to find my firefish goby nowhere to be found. I have checked everywhere. I looked on my carpets, my lights, my sump, my overflow and I can't find him. Where could he be??

You didn't say you checked the tank....it could be hiding in the rockwork.

I checked the tank, he is usually out in the open and he wasn't. I also checked where he normally goes to hide when he gets scared and he wasn't there either.

Wow. never knew they would hide for that long. I'll trying feeding them and see if he comes out.

Firefish are small and love to carpet surf.....once its dried up, it could be very hard to find....could have also flipped to an inaccessible corner. I don't know what your clean up crew is like, but in my tank fish either die in the rock work and are never seen again...but if a corpse makes it into the open, its usually looks pretty well consumed by hermits, mud snails, and bristle worms...even if it only died hours earlier. Then again, it could be just alive and well, hiding......

My cleanup crew isn't very large. I just have a bunch of turbo and naussarius snails and maybe 2 or 3 hermits. I'll look in my rocks and see if I can find anything.

I found him! I went down to feed my fish and there he was. He was just swimming around like he normally would without a scratch or anything. I'm so glad he didn't decide to jump ship or end up in my sump or something.
