Any one have any suggestions on how to catch a shy juvenile foxface?
PS I'm looking to sell him for around 40$ (was bought for a temporary solution to macro algae growth). He's around 3", very healthy and eats everything!
Locate where he "sleeps" when the lights go off. After a few hours of darkness, turn on the tank lights and he should be easy to net. I've found that they tend to be slow to "wake up." Careful of the dorsal spines - in case you didn't know they're venomous.
to catch the fish i want out of my tank i use a laser light.the fish chase it and will follow it into anything.it worked for me 99% of the time .i had 1 smart damsel that wouldnt fall for it
Thanks guys. I've seen alot of people using the inverted 1L coke bottle trick. I'm assuming it wouldn't work well because I would have to cut a substantial whole at the bottle neck right?
Get whatever your gonna catch it in and leave it in the tank for a few hours(near a wall and high for ease of access). When the fish are used to it dangle some food in front of it and scoop him out.
