I tried the tigger pods thats an expensive meal. My mandarine is growing and staying plump with no feedings now I do make babybrine shrimp a few times a week and notice when I dump the bbs in the tank the mandarine comes out though I cant say for sure it is eating them it is eating . I have an established (6 1/2 years)125gal with 200lbs of rock and 3 wrasses and a pseudochromis that are always picking at the rocks

oh yeah, thats plenty large enough and well established enough to house a mandarin. I wouldnt worry too much about supplimenting tigger pods. Maybe if you wanna add a bottle every few months just to make sure the population stays up, but you dont need to use it as weekly food.

Just make sure you don't have any other competitors like a six line wrasse or something.

If it were me I'd say screw it buy a bottle of tigger pods and just drop the whole thing in there and wait like a week or two.

I would also make little "rock piles" where he can't get in so the pods can repopulate in there safely.

i have 3 in a 150. they are all plump. green manadarins will only eat pods. psychadelics will eat prepared and anythign else they can find.. they are very easy to care for.. the greens are a little more difficult. IMO 3 is too many. 2 is ideal .. i would say 1 per 75 gallon.. also. i have no fish that compete with them. no wrasses or pod eaters. which is why im getting lucky with 3.
