white feces

What does it mean when the feces are white? Some sort of intestinal infection? The fish also seems to have a cut on the side that protrudes out noticeably, and from the side, I could see beneath the skin - from the front, it gives an illusion that its sides are sunken. Any ideas?

May or may not be related... do you mind if I ask what you feed the fish?

I feed them PE mini-mysis shrimp, cyclopeeze, ORA Glo, and occasional flakes.

White stringy feces are generally a sign of internal gut parasites. One othe ways to treat is to use praziquantel. I typically use General Cure by API, and seems to work well whenever I have used it.

Is it contagious? I'll get a QT going. Just follow the directions on the General Cure label, or is there a different regiment I should follow. Thanks,
