Is it normal for a clownfish to jump out of a tank?
I have heard of some fish doing it but I wasn't aware that clownfish do it.
I was lucky I was in the room at the time.

Hi tonep ;-)
Almost any fish can jump out of a tank, although some are more prone to that than others. Some years ago I lost a Amphiprion ocellaris and a Premnas biaculeatus because of jumping, but lucky you, KathyC has an excellent solution for that, please have a look in this thread Tank cover (

Stressed, sick, fish that are being harassed by other fish and fish that are startled by outside of tank activity are big reasons for jumping.

You could get some pond netting and one of those window screen kits from home depot. Even though the screen kits are aluminum they shouldn't cause a problem since they are out of the water. Just be sure to give them a nice rub down during your water change to prevent salt buildup.
