just got a yellow watchman goby last weekend, after i put him in he went under one of my rocks and i havent seen him all week . so today he pops his head out and his eyes are white and cloudy, seems to be acting normal. any ideas what this could be ??? all levels in tank are ok , all other fish look good . ill try to post a picture of him if he pops his head out again.

Gobies can be odd little guys...I have a Wheeler Watchman now for almost two years. When I first bought him, he was in the front of my nanocube for about 3 weeks, then he disappeared. 4 MONTHS later, I was doing a water change and decided to look in the back of my nano compartments to just "check things out"...much to my surprise...there he was. I couldn't believe it. That long with hardly any light or direct food...crazy.
Ok, my point...keep an eye on him but if he is eating and starts becoming more active, he should be fine.
I hope my story was at least entertaining.

Mark..not necessarily sand on the eyes but they could be irritated.

Try and wait it out and see if he becomes more sociable as he gets more comfortable

Put some garlic juice in the water as well as putting garlic juice in the shrimp mix you are going to feed the tank. Your watchman's eyes are infected, if not treated, he will go blind. That is what happened to mine.

do NOT medicate the whole tank, if he can manage to eat some good food, he has a good chance of recovering.

Good luck.
