Feeding my fish clams

[Tangs Rule]

I was advised today to feed my watanabei angels clams purchased from a local supermarket. I have never used this before. Do I need to boil the clams to open them before putting the clam in the or should I pry it open with a knife and place it into the tank?

I would ask the one who gave you the advice. My guess would be you do not boil them.

You open them up and halve them. Do not cook them :lol: If the clams are small I rubberband them to a small piece of flat rock so that they can pick at the meat easier.

Those angels are planktivores. Clams should be seen as a treat, if offered at all.

I only fed it to them once because my female was had not yet starting eating. She has since started to eat well and I no longer feed them clams. However, none of the fish in my tank ate it off the half shell, I had to pull the clam meat out and chop it up.
