Well the title say's it all.. I have been feeding the groupers and puffers of my client's crabs and watching them devour them... This also serves as a beak manager meal so to say, for the puffers who feed on these in the wild... Lot's of people believe that krill alone does the job... In the wild they eat crabs and other crustaceans... Krill doesn't really have the hard shell that they can total wear down their beak as they get older and bigger..
Well just sharing some info for this community to think about.. I collect these crabs normally for the octopus...

I have a couple groupers but no puffers, as I have acrylic tanks. I feed them a number of different things, like shrimp, clams, sliver sides and pieces of fish but no live crabs. I have had large hermits, and even large horse shoe crabs, but my triggers, Hogs and eels usually eat them.

do you have any smaller crabs, about 0.5 inch to 1.5 inches long?

They range from .5" to 1".. clown triggers destroy them and puffers get a chance to really wear down their beaks... Yes, I do I collect them often to feed my octopus.. Shore crabs Awibrandy..
My Mystery wrasse love the hermits... As soon as I drop them into the tank he takes them right out of the shell..
