OK i am not sure whats going on with her but for the past few days shes been perching on the rock. Shes got a favorite spot that she is always on. I have never seen her do this before.

After looking at her belly area she seems to be getting larger and its also getting a transparent in color.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Well shes does this thing when shes swims around. She does swim from the top of the tank to the bottom.

Also show is normally in the vertical position tail upwards though

Thanks for the input though.

Also my male is sticking real close to her and the other females are off on their own.

Wow never heard of that, You gonna try to rear the fry?

Also don't rule out an internal infection, it might be that.

Very unlikely she is pregnant. She is severely emaciated, and probably has some kind of intestinal infection/parasite. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news, but she needs food, often, if she is going to live, let alone spawn.

If it's swimming vertically, I'd check for swim bladder infections as well since it sounds like it's having buoyancy problems. Plus, anthias are in the order of perciformes, which literally translates into perch-like...

Well i dont think shes no where near hungry. I feed my tank 3 times a day and she eats like a pig.

Also i dont see how shes has an infection or anything else shes very healthy.

When i mean shes swimming vertically she does swim all over the place but she will go to the top of the tank and then swim down to where she perches. Hard to explain

Just throwing out possibilities based on the info. you provided. If you think the anthias is healthy, then good to hear. Def. not pregnant though and if it's not pregnant, but the belly seems to be swelling and shes having trouble swimming horizontally at all times....just something to think about. ;)

Good that she is eating, nonetheless, she is definitely not healthy. The concave area behind her neck is an indication of severe malnourishment.

I was going to say the same but don't like to bust bubbles... Plus, I like to see how many people really know what they are talking about first..lol..
Hopefully your water pars are in check and this fish can be fed a little more, to see if it's a parasite or not... (Meaning if it eats more than once a day and fattens up it was just under fed)... Anthias should be fed more than once a day.. I have 10 and feed them sometimes 3 separate times with pellets.. That's also why I run my lights from 3pm to 2am.. Kind of hard to miss those hrs..

Well shes eat all my fish eat 3 times a day. I dont see how there is a concave maybe its just the pic shes FAT.

Thanks for all the input.

Its not the pic, she is not fat.
If you look carefully at the pic you posted you'll see the skull of the fish is protruding out of the body. Not many people look at this area to judge a fishes health (they always look at the belly), so I can understand your confusion.
If she has some kind of intestinal parasite, even if she eats she may not be able to assimilate the food.

I would suggest a quarantine tank. This next comment is going to start a posting fire but maybe hyposalinty. Really have to look for any signs first. But I personally would start with placing the anthias in a quanrantine tank with a air stone going and putting the temperature in the 80 to 84 range. I wouldnt even begin copper or anything like that since we dont know what the parasite or fungus is. Goodluck. By the way nice avatar pic, pretty cool. Could only image trying that on a larger scale.

Try one of those specimin containers, like the ones at your LFS, just gotta move in slow. From what I read fish have a difficult time seeing the clear container so its a little easier and its a bit less stressful than using a net. But of course this is all provided on how much room you have to work with. Again goodluck.
