I fed him 6 ghost rhimp earlier today, and tonight before I turned the light out I put in about 12 by accident. If he eats all of these should I be worried about overfeeding, or should i just keep an eye on water quality.

If they are actual ghost shrimp they will die if not eaten so keep an eye on them in case you have to take them out. If they are grass shrimp from the sound or bay, they will live and be fine. Are you sure the Octo is eating?
