Cut on Gobies Mouth?

I recently added a Pink Spotted Gobie to my tank and it has what looks like a cut on its mouth. Does anyone know what this is and if it will heal? Is it something other fish can catch? This fish is eating frozen shrimp but not sifting sand. and the cleaner shrimp seem interested in the cut. Should i worry about it? it looks preaty ugly.

You never can tell with a fish injury. You might want to buy something that will help it heal faster as long as it's reef safe. The shrimp may be looking to clean the cut. Cool lookin fish though.

See if you can isolate the fish to another tank so the injury can heal w/o other fish, shrimp or crabs pestering it. I have the same fish & I never observed it sifting sand, does yours?
