Can you tell if they are eating? Have you tried BBS with them?

I fed them cyclopeeze and phyto or photoplankton (freeze dried) which ever one - it's redish in color. I am thinking they are better protected from any predators in the in-tank-refugium. One looked like it wasn't going to make it last night, but this morning all 8 looked great and in a tiny little school. I do see 3 in the overflow...I may get a net and get them out - hopefully the chances of survival will be great considering I have a good number of them.

In reading that excellent article provided by prattreef and in my limited experience with baby seahorses, it seems that Cyclopeeze might be the next feeding progression after rotifers and BBS for a couple of weeks.
If you are near Chelsea I have some hatched BBS if you need some to feed your babies. Hope this helps and please take this as purely amateur advice.

I am not sure...actually. I just put in the cyclopezee and then plankton. There seem to be some movement, but you can't even see their mouths open 'cause they're tiny.

Bob - Is the breeding for the PJ's the same as for Bangaiis?

As for the urchin issue, I have seen ( dont recall if it was here or elsewhere ) someone make a fake urchin out of wooden shiskebabob sticks and ( I beleive ) epoxy. He had success with that method.

I'm not really sure but I know the plastic urchin's only work in a tank that only has the cardinal's in it... It didn't work with a community tank for some strange reason...

Thanks man. I am rarely in Chelsea...unless I go out drinking
