If you already have him in a QT, why do you need someone else to QT him for you?
Check all of the parameters in the QT, kinda odd for him to develop ich while in a QT already..what are you going to treat him with? What size is the tank?

Anyone else in there with him? Are you matching the temp & salinity of the water you are changing to the QT water?
You might want to try hyposalinity as it will stress him less than treating with copper.
Is the tank in a busy area of your home? It helps to have the tank covered on 3 sides with a background of some sort as it makes the fish feel more secure. A small airpump & airstone are also beneficial as ich severely affects the gills.
There is a sticky atop the Reefs for Beginners Forum that contains excellent info on the treatment of Ich. The 3rd link gives detailed instructions on how to treat using hyposalinity.

You can leave the LR in there..more of a comfort level for the fish, though I wouldn't put it back in your main tank even when you are done.
Not necessarily a good idea to wait on treating Ich..it does kill quickly....
