recently my bigger clown seems to attack the smaller clown a lot more fiercely than before (she always did this in the past, but I thought this was part of the normal 'showing-who-was-dominant' game). My smaller clown seems to have been bitten now (his fins look beat up). Do you think that this was the bigger clown? (only have a lawnmower blenny and a royal gramma besides them). Do you think this is normal and they'll sort it out or is my small clown in real danger (if so, I might have to give away the bigger clown)... btw, I've had them for 7 months. I didn't get them together. got the little one with another clown first (the other jumped out of the tank 2 weeks after I had them, and I got the bigger clown then; they seemed to get along, were always together in the beginning, but the bigger one had always shown him who's the boss)... hmm, any suggestions? thanks

Aggression is usual but maybe you do have reason to worry. Is he still eating as long as he is then he shouldn't die of bullying. Was the smaller clown in a tank with other clowns?Perhaps you got two females or he turned female...You got a problem then, I believe you're the guy whose clown and tang jumped so those would be occelaris clowns right?

if there occelaris I wouldnt sress but if there tomato or maroon I would. Ive seen large female maroons hunt smaller ones like a shark, there territorialness is brutal

they're false clowns. got the little one with another one intially (they were both very small, similar size - don't know if he turned female then). 2 weeks later one jumped (could you believe it! have had a full cover since).. never had a tang (tank too small).. the little clown is still eating and seems fine otherwise. hmm, probably shouldn't do anything.. poor little guy.. tough life with a bossy wife :)

I have a mated pair of false clowns, she is always following him around, probably bugging him to take out the trash and stop staying out late, normal behavior.

very typical behavior, the female is probably also annoyed that he keeps spilling water on the rug with fishtank water changes and spends grocery money on frags and fish, OH S%$T maybe im doing a bit of self reflection

By the up beat tone this thread has taken you can be sure that you are ok, just wait it out unless he isnt eating, is he?

yep, he eats... will keep an eye on them.. during the day they are actually not always together now but all of a sudden she will confront him and tell him off... at night they're together... maybe this is a sign that all is all right ? :)
