I have a Clown Tang that has a few areas on the fish that have red marks. I know that the fish has internal bleeding in those areas. He had this for a day. I put him in a quarinteen tank. What should I give him to keep in alive. He is still eating.

PLEASE HELP!

thanks

Fish guy..do you have any pics of the fish?
Not sure why you would have put copper into the quarantine tank for what you are describing as it is almost always more dangerous to treat a fish with the incorrect medication than to leave the fish in the QT under observation.
As copper is very rough on fish and rarely (if ever) used for anything other than the treatment of ich, I would suggest you do a 100 % water change and add a hang on filter with some carbon in it to remove as much as possible. Ideally, if you have another tank, I would move the fish into that with new SW (that is the same temp & salinity as the current water you have him in).

Can you tell us more about this fish..., how long you have had him, his age if you know, what he is fed, behavior, and anything else you might see out of the ordinary?
It would also be helpful to post the size of your system & parameters.

ok the fish is about 10 inches, he is eating mysis shrimp, his tail is all red and parts of his body are as well. he likes to stay in the top corner in my QT and when he was in my main tank he would do the same, he sticks his like forehead out of the water but never his eyes or mouth.

Is this fish a recent addition to your tank??
10"? Do you still have the 75 g tank that you were recently asking about adding a Naso & a large angle fish to and telling us you planned to upgrade to a larger tank..in the future. Is that correct?

Please don't say you added a 10" fish to that tank...

Clown Tangs can grow to 15" and a 10" one certainly doesn't belong in a 75 g tank (are the 6"lion and the other fish still in there?). I believe the recommendation is for a 250+g tank for a fish that size.

Clown Tangs are prone to stress issues and fish this large lead to major water quality issues. Water quality issues lead to bacterial infections (which your description sounds most like).
As I suggested earlier, get him out of the copper & into a LARGE, CLEAN quarantine tank and I'd suggest you treat with a broad spectrum antibiotic (covers both gram positive & gram negative bacterias..since we have no way of know which you are dealing with). Follow the directions on the packaging to the letter.
If you do get him healthy once again, please either have a MUCH larger tank ready for him right away or find him an appropriate home.

btw..fish that orient themselves nose up, have cloudy eyes & usually exhibit this behavior in the corner of a tank and most often suffering from a bacterial infection.
