Gold Bar Clowns

How can you tell if the clowns are pairing? At the store where I bought them, they were paired and not fighting, but when I put them into the main display with the GBTA, the darker female now beats the hell out of the smaller lighter color male. All his fins are nipped.

Any suggestions? I paid like I was buying each and not paid the a confirmed pair price, so not really too concerned about the money part. Not really sure if I'm clear or not.:argue:

Female clowns show dominance over male/juvenile clowns by pushing, nipping, etc. Sounds normal.

Separte them temporaily to see what happens

She is nestled on the GBTA and won't let him on it. He basically hovers on a rock next to the GBTA.

I will isolate them in a floating basket and see if they will pair up again. Will post the results.

Leave them be, they are fine.
