Keep fish out of the overflow box?

Hey MR peeps,

Yesterday I got home and found atleast 6 Blue Green Chromis dead in my overflow box and 4 alive fighting the current to be sucked in. I also found my yellow watchman also in there. I have a prefilter and they only survived because of that.

Any suggestion on how I can prevent it.

Top your overflow box with eggcrate (light diffuser)

or surround your overflow box with Gutter Guard.

I'm gonna try the gutter guard option. Any idea where I would get the egg crate and gutter guard?

Both at most hardware stores including Home Depot.
